Using my same design as my exclusive 1.8fr tube, the 2.8fr tube is appropriate for all possums 25g and up! This tube will feed a majority of orphaned wildlife requiring tube feeding.
We have had exceptional feedback on our present design for the pinkie opossum tube in size 1.8fr, so we are now making the much-needed 2.8fr tube. At present, there are other manufacturers of the 2.8fr in high quality materials but we felt they were not affordable for most rehabbers.
Our new 2.8fr offers the same features as our 1.8fr design:
- Luer-lock connector, which prevents tubes from detaching under pressure.
- Single lumen, appropriate for small wildlife to prevent fluid aspiration and subsequent pneumonia.
- Clear tube section to verify flow.
- Tube clip to stop formula flow between babies, making it safe to remove the tube without leaking in the esophagus or mouth.
- Manufactured in an FDA and ISO-certified facility specialized in feeding tubes for humans
- Human-grade but for use only with animals
